Face Yoga: For Sculpted face and Anti-aging

 What is Face Yoga?

It simply an exercise of the face, just like you do for your body, that stiffens your facial muscles, stretches them, and tones them. It is similar to the body workout that one does get six-pack abs, toned muscles, or lean body. 

If it is done in the correct way it can do wonders to combat several problems related to face all at once such as  defined face cut, jawline, sculpted cheekbones, thin face and get rid of puffiness, facial fat, and most importantly wrinkles. 

What is science behind it ?

First of all we will try to understand the process of aging and formation of wrinkles. Skin aging is quite complex process that is affected by two factors intrinsic factors such as genetics, body metabolism and hormones, extrinsic factors such as pollution, exposure to sun, chemicals and toxins. 

How your skin looks depends on the three components that make up the skin, collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans (GAG's). When any of them starts depeleting it disturbs the balance and skin starts showing the signs of aging.

What treatments are available for anti-aging?

Lot of treatments such as fillers and botox are extremely popular and are expensive. Lot of expensive creams, oils and serums are also used. 

Face yoga is new trend and grabbing a lot of attention. as it is inexpensive and produces the right results.

How face yoga helps to slow down the signs of aging ?

Aging becomes evident with loss of volume and mass of skin due to depletion of muscle tissues. It is proved fact that doing any muscular activity can increase the production of collagen and elastin. Anything which induces the production of collagen and elastin whether that can be excersie or any food helps to improve the structure of skin. 

Facial excersies also produces the enzymes such as gultathione peroxidase, catalase and superoxide dimutase that in return boots the production of antioxidants, that are extremely important for brighter and fresh looking skin.

As a beginner simple facial exercises to practice:

  • Fill your mouth with air, keep it filled for at least 20 secs and then release. Do it for 4-5 times daily.
  • Fill your mouth with air and move the air I'm left and right cheek and then release. Do it 2-3 times daily.
  • Try saying alphabets O-X-O-X-O-X multiple times.
  • Make a pout and hold it for some time and then relsease

I will say that you must give it a chance, it is not a overnight process, do it for at least 2 weeks and you will see clear results.
